Martina Boone, founder and principal blogger, loves reading and writing books about beautiful, vicious, magical worlds that intersect our own, and about the monsters of myth and folklore that sometimes show more humanity than we do. She is the author of COMPULSION, the first of her HEIRS OF WATSON ISLAND trilogy, available Fall 2014 from Simon and Schuster/Simon Pulse. It's a Southern Gothic full of romance, magic, mystery and lots of creepy atmosphere set on three historic plantations.

She lives in Oklahoma with a husband, two kids, two cats, two dogs, and a mother. Recently, Martina called her “better than aspirin”, so her new goal is to become better than valium. She loves ladybugs, fairies, blue roses, cats, musical theater, and pretty much all things geek. You can reach her at jan (at) authorsidekick (dot) com or on twitter at https://twitter.com/janlewis77.
Alyssa Hamilton, our Guest Post Coordinator, is a twenty-something Communications and Publishing student who hails from Vancouver, Canada. When she is not in class, she is at the bookstore where she works—whether or not she is on duty. Her passion for reading started at a young age and has continued to grow, so most of her pay cheque goes toward buying books to fill her already overflowing bookshelves. Her favourite genres within YA are dark and gothic, paranormal, contemporary, high fantasy, and retellings. When she doesn't have a book in hand, you can find her hiking, picking out her next tattoo, or enjoying the outdoors. Visit her blog at http://sweptawaybybooks.blogspot.ca/ and on Twitter at https://twitter.com/alybabybooks.
Lisa Gail Green, our new Agent and Contest Coordinator, also mentors the First Five Pages Workshop with Martina. She writes paranormal and fantasy. She is the author of THE BINDING STONE, the first novel in her DJINN series.
She would most definitely have a werewolf for a pet if she weren't allergic. Find her at http://lisagailgreen.com.
Clara Kensie asks the Question of the Week on Sundays. Clara grew up near Chicago, reading every book she could find and using her diary to write stories about a girl with psychic powers who solved mysteries. She purposely did not hide her diary, hoping someone would read it and assume she was writing about herself. Since then, she's swapped her diary for a computer and admits her characters are fictional, but otherwise she hasn't changed one bit.
Today Clara is the author of super-romantic psychic thrillers for young adults. RUN TO YOU, a super-sized three-part serial from HarlequinTEEN, begins February 1, 2014 with weekly releases. The sequel, also a super-sized three-part serial, begins June 1, 2014.
